Subtitled, "education, courtship, sport, play, make-believe, fighting and other aspects...," there are eight black-and-white illustrations. Published by Seeley, Service & Co. in London, the 159-page pictorial hardcover is in very good antique (109 years old) condition. Special sections of the book include "the bird life cycle—from egg through adulthood, leaving the nest, parenting, and fighting." With illustrations of ostrich chick, brown pelicans, reed-warblers, geese and white stork. The spine shows shelf-wear (top & bottom), but the book is intact. Illustrations and text are clean, bright, and with few random age spots. Reprinted often, but this Original, charming book - perfect for any Art Nouveau setting- is for both bird and book lovers.
