Very good condition. Yozo Hamaguchi (Japan, 1909 - 2000) is considered one of the finest mezzotint artists in the history of the medium. Hamaguchi studied sculpture at the Tokyo Art School in 1927, but abandoned his studies in 1930 to go to France to study oil painting, watercolor, and copper-plate engraving. Hamaguchi settled in Paris in 1953. from about 1955, he began producing both b/w and colored mezzotints. He was awarded prizes at the Sao Paulo Biennale and at the first International Biennial of Print Exhibition in Tokyo in 1957. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
