French pair of Louis XVI style armchairs from the Late 19th century. These antique chairs in Oak, with upholstered centers set within a highly carved vertical acanthus leaf Top Rail, and Side Post of the frame. The padded arms with deep acanthus leaf scroll carved wood continuing down the stump. The seat rail is highly carved in the spiral ribbon straight line recessed pattern. Medallion cornered front , and sides with reed carved tapered legs. Brass button tacked surrounded spring cushioned bottom and back rest , with previously reupholstered in silk like material in very good condition.
