Allen W. Seaby (1867 - 1963) Color Woodcut: Titled Happy Family. Signed in pencil in the lower right and is monogrammed in the block above. The addition size is unknown, lacking this information, as typically found in the lower right. I only found one other copy of this print.
The print measures 18 1/4" W x 15 1/8" H. The visible portion of the print (inside opening, within the mat) measures 12" x 9".
Biography:
Allen William Seaby (1867-1953), watercolorist, woodcut artist, author, and illustrator, was born in London, England on May 25, 1867, the son of a cabinet maker and carpenter. He studied color woodcut with Frank Morley Fletcher, a pioneer in England of woodblock color printing by Japanese methods, at the School of Art, Reading University. Seaby joined the staff of the University of Reading in 1899, where he became professor of fine art and later head of the art department.
Seaby mastered the techniques of color woodcut and became one of its leading exponents. He won a gold medal for color woodcut in Milan in 1906 and was a founding member of the Engravers and Printers in Colour and the Colour Print Guild.

Not examined out of frame, but appears not to have been laid down. There is one minuscule indent (shown in the 5th photo) and a few spots of foxing. The most visible is above the signature, in the lower right corner. A slight distortion in flatness can be found in the upper right corner. There are no visible mat burns, and the colors remain remarkably strong. The frame appears to be original, but it does have a small surface scratch.
