Dated 1974 hand-carved King Tutankhamun bust bookends (set of 2), carved from a solid block of teak wood, feature detailed representations of the Pharaoh. The black finish highlights the design work and detailing. Each piece is signed by the artist "F. Adel," with the number "74," for 1974.
These bookends offer both functionality and a touch of ancient Egyptian design. The piece was made in Cairo and sold near the pyramids of Giza in the 1970s.
King Tutankhamun, often called "King Tut," was an Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the 18th dynasty. Although he became famous after his tomb was discovered in 1922, Tutankhamun's reign was relatively short and uneventful. His tomb, however, contained a wealth of treasures and artifacts, making it one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in history.
