Offered here is a stunning pair of authentic “Lia” chairs designed by celebrated Italian architect and designer Claudio Salocchi. These iconic Mid-Century Modern chairs feature striking chrome cantilever bases paired with their original natural suede upholstery, creating a beautifully balanced mix of sleek and organic elements. These chairs like all of the Lia chairs produced were not marked.

The suede has aged gracefully, showing some wear on the corners—adding to their rich vintage character. Both chairs are structurally sound and exceptionally comfortable, true to Salocchi’s commitment to both form and function.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear to suede, primarily at corners and edges. Frames are clean and sturdy with no rust or instability. Original suede upholstery has not been restored, preserving the authentic vintage patina. Bases have been freashly powder coated in a flat black ready for another 60 years of use. Please also note these chairs are very heavy the metal bases are solid.

Designer Note:
Claudio Salocchi (1934–2012) was a leading figure in Italian modernism. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he worked across architecture, interiors, and product design. His pieces have been exhibited internationally and remain highly collectible. See less
