Antique 19th Century Chinese Hand-Painted Wooden Red Food Basket/ Lunch Box.
Hand-made and hand-painted in red lacquer with gilt carving on the handle. The carving depicts dragons, children, and rams. The top is completely removable with the original hardware. Iron bands on the top and bottom rim. In ancient China, wealthy families would use this kind of food box to transfer food from room to room. Wonderful collector's item.
