These iconic lounge chairs originate from Czechia and date back to around 1930. They were produced by Thonet and designed by Jindrich Halabala, exemplifying mid-century design in Central Europe. The chairs feature a sleek and uncomplicated geometry that contrasts with the soft, comfortable seat, accentuated by dynamic bentwood elements. Using modernist principles, Halabala crafted a distinctive aesthetic that is passionate, streamlined, and humanistic—ideal for creating inviting and functional domestic spaces. The chairs have been re-upholstered in a comfortable fabric, and like all our upholstered pieces, they can be newly upholstered. We have many of these armchairs available, making them perfect for interior projects, such as restaurants or hotels.
