This charming Romanian pine bench or settle dates from 1927. Crafted from pine, it features a newly painted gray- green finish (Benjamin Moore Dried Basil).
This bench traces its roots to the region that was formerly the Austrian Empire, when the Habsburg Monarchy ruled much of present day Austria, Romania, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Historically in the small villages of this region, the family gathering spot during temperate months was on a wide porch or veranda where this bench would have been located.
We think that this bench would make a marvelous addition to any home. From an entry or hallway, to a mudroom or breakfast nook. Place it somewhere special where you can enjoy its' charming features.
