Inspired by the iconic LC2 model designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand in 1928 and later produced by Cassina under exclusive license starting in 1965, this armchair is a refined Italian reinterpretation dating back to the 1970s. (1970-1975). Crafted by a specialized workshop in Northern Italy, it stands out for its high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, clear indicators of its artisanal origin. The polished stainless steel frame, with its clean yet elegant lines, faithfully echoes the design of the renowned “fauteuil grand confort.” The upholstery has been recently restored and re-covered in durable black velvet, giving the chair a sober, sophisticated appearance—ideal for both classic interiors and more modern or industrial spaces. Though not an original Cassina piece, this armchair remains a genuine testament to the postwar Italian embrace of modernist design and offers an excellent alternative for those seeking the timeless style of the LC2 combined with the craftsmanship of a vintage, artisan-made item. Thanks to its sculptural, compact form, this piece lends itself to a variety of settings: perfect beside a modern fireplace, in a refined study, or as a focal point in a minimalist living room. It pairs beautifully with concrete floors, light wood parquet, or geometric rugs, and works well next to a glass or metal side table to enhance its architectural character. Also striking as a contrasting element in more classic interiors, where it adds a timeless touch of design. The armchair has been fully restored and is in excellent condition.
