Tapestry cartoons (not the kind on television) are the life size models painted onto canvas from which tapestries are ultimately woven by hand using these illustrations as a guide. This is a more recent example from the 20th century based on classic Verdure tapestry themes of lush foliage and romantic landscapes frozen in time. The printed canvas is in very good condition with a magnificent color palette enhancing the richly dressed nobleman on horseback.
