Charming hand-carved American folk art shore bird mounted on a rustic piece of bark-edged wood. The bird is delicately shaped and painted with a warm, natural finish. Signed by the artist and dated "'64 Blowing Rock, NC" on the base. While the signature is present, it is difficult to decipher. A wonderful example of mid-20th century regional folk craftsmanship.
