English Sterling Silver & Green Glass Hallmarked London 1896 & 1897 with John Grinsell & Sons maker's mark.
A stunning example of Victorian craftsmanship, this green glass jug is a true work of art. Cut glass comprises floral motifs and a feathered, clear handle. An incredibly fine piece, made by John Grinsell & Sons of London whose maker's mark (JG&S) can be seen on both the bottle rim and stopper. Interestingly, the hallmarks on the jug are dated 1896, while the stopper is 1897, though it does seem to be the original stopper and does seal properly.
This is a beautiful, refined piece of history that is a fabulous addition to a distinguished collection or the key piece to any decor or vignette.
