The frames are constructed of bent and laminated beech wood with stunning variegated woodgrains throughout. The caramel-colored vegan leather (thick-cut vinyl) is in lightly patained condition which perfectly offsets the rich woodgrains of the beech wood frames. Norwegian-born architect and designer Ingmar Relling is known as one of Norway’s most internationally recognized and revered designers and is considered a major player in the Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design movement. In 1965, Relling, in collaboration with his son Knut Relling, designed the Siesta Chair winning him first prize by the Industry Council for Furniture that same year.
