A very atmospheric and peaceful woodland scene, executed in oil onto board.

The composition draws the viewer’s eye into the distance, where sunlight breaks through a dense canopy of tall, straight pine trees. The path, dappled with light and shadow, winds gently forward, inviting contemplation and exploration.

The foreground is shaded, with rich, dark greens and earthy browns suggesting the coolness of the woods. As the eye travels along the path, the scene brightens, culminating in a radiant burst of light filtering through the trees in the background — the “light at the end” referenced in the title.
