Due to its reflective nature, this sculpture demands your attention! In a bright and sunny space, this torch-cut, brass and copper sailboat, perched upon an onyx base, is positively blinding!
Signed by the artist, Mario Jason (born 1938), who immigrated to the United States (1962), from Buenos Aires, Argentina. While in America, Mario continued his love of creating sculptures from metals; his work is well known and he received many accolades.

The felt pads on the base’s bottom, will keep the cream colored onyx from scratching any surfaces. Please check out the pictures—since this piece is so reflective, I covered up the Onyx base, so that you could see the ship and its sails more clearly. less
