A splendid Parisian dressing table, a testament to the expertise of early 19th-century cabinetmakers. Crafted from wood veneer and subtly inlaid with lemon wood marquetry, it embodies the elegance and refinement of the Charles X era.
Its swan-neck cheval mirror features an oval mirror framed with delicate marquetry of flowers and garlands of leaves. Mounted on a scrolled structure, it pivots on an axis adorned at each end with a chiseled bronze pine cone.
The Carrara marble top features a finely carved oval. This piece opens at the edge with a slightly recessed drawer, richly decorated with marquetry of threads, foliage, flowers, and scrolls. It is fitted with a functional lock and key.
The whole rests on two imposing scrolled console legs, also adorned with citron wood inlays with a palmette motif. The lower section reveals a concave base enhanced by sumptuous marquetry, while the rear uprights retain their straight lines, ensuring harmony and balance to this exceptional piece.
