S.c. Turrita was founded at the end of 1800 in the town on the western coast of tuscany called livorno with the initial intent of producing ironstone with english decoration, and it did so for many years with the classic willow, colandine, ferrara and landscape patterns but the set that we offer you, goes beyond this trend. What delighted me about these plates is the decorative, instinctive and folk motif that mixes together two colors, blue and red, and two ceramic techniques: transfer print and block stamps. A decorative motif of a dense red mesh was transferred onto the white background of the plates, always under the glaze, and ultramarine blue graphic motifs were then superimposed that stylize leaves and flowers with the block print technique. The artisan technique used to make them, and the different signs of use, depending on which plates were used the most, make each of these plates unique and different from each other.

i imagine them hanging on a wall as a splendid decorative composition, but no one is stopping you from using them to serve a slice of cake or for your food blogger sets. These plates are over 80 years old, and as is normal they show minimal imperfections in the glaze, which can be seen in the photos. this piece has an attribution mark,
