The wood is mahogany yet there is a melange of different types of wood for the trim. We painted the main body a navy blue and the top half with an expresso stain. We lined the drawer with an art deco print paper and created two drawer pulls from another piece. The top folds down onto itself and one can hide the inner workings for the desk for a cleaner look when your work is done. The piece has very interesting shapes and trims. It is quite the statement piece to place in your office or in a corner of the bedroom. Very dramatic. See less
