Gerald Leslie Brockhurst RA (1890 - 1978) "Oliver St. John Gogarty" etching on paper. Pencil signed. Combined shipping available, please inquire.
Brockhurst was a well known portrait painter and etcher whose subjects included Merle Oberon and Marlene Dietrich, as well as the Duchess of Windsor, whose husband commissioned her portrait. He was a Royal Academician (UK), a member of the Society of Graphic Art and National Academy of Design (US) associate member.
Gogarty (1878-1957) was an Irish poet, politician, and all around raconteur.
This particular print can be found in the collections of museums and institutions all over the world including National Galleries of Scotland and Royal Academy of Art (UK).
