The delicate figurine is … Read more A porcelain Susannah with Towel designed by the Polish-American artist Lubomir Tomaszewski (1923-2018) for Cmielow Poland. The delicate figurine is reaching downward while using a black and white striped towel. The hair of the figure is in a black braid ending in a bow and is marked "Cmielow" to the underside.

Lubomir Tomaszewski graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in Poland before immigrating to New York City in the 1960s. He worked alongside established designers including Henryk Jędrasiak, Mieczysław Naruszewicz, and Hanna Orthwein. In 1963, his designs were exhibited at the International Exhibition of the Board of the Industrial Designers’ Association (ICSID) in Paris. Among his achievements is establishing an international art movement, Emotionalism, in 1994. Tomaszewski was part of 150+ individual and group exhibitions during his lifetime and was awarded highly.
