This striking majolica pitcher dates to circa 1880 and is attributed to the Thomas Forester Church Street Works in Longton, Staffordshire. The design features a distinctive cobalt blue ground accented with rich brown and golden yellow tones, and an aqua-hued interior. Each side is decorated with a rare depiction of a vulture with a pink head—a notable departure from the more common eagle or falcon motifs typically seen in "bird of prey" majolica. The handle is cleverly formed in the shape of bamboo, adding to its naturalistic charm.
