Add charm and character to your table or display with this set of six antique French majolica plates from the celebrated Fives Lille faïencerie. Each plate features a molded border of asparagus spears and artichokes, with a small well for dressing, glazed in a delicate yet lively palette of soft blue, muted yellow, green, and touches of purple.
A perfect addition to country-style decor, these plates are ideal whether used for dining, displayed in a vaisselier or china cabinet, or given as a thoughtful gift for a majolica enthusiast. Produced near the Belgian border, they reflect the naturalistic charm and craftsmanship typical of 19th-century French barbotine.
All plates are marked on the underside with the number 1305 consistent with an example featured in the Fives Lille section of Maryse Bottero’s Artichauts et Asperges en Barbotine.
