These six dining room chairs from the 1960s are an excellent example of danish furniture design.
they were manufactured in denmark by the renowned manufacturer o.d. Møbler a-s, as the label on the underside of the chairs confirms. They were designed by erik buch, a well-known danish designer who is particularly appreciated for his functional yet aesthetically sophisticated seating.
the chairs presented here are characterized by their particularly harmonious combination of organic forms and solid craftsmanship. The frames are made of solid oak, which impresses with its warm, natural grain. The workmanship is extremely precise – characteristic of scandinavian furniture design of that era. The curved lines of the backrests and legs appear soft and elegant without being obtrusive.
the seats and backrests are upholstered with an original, coarsely woven fabric in a beige-brown shade. This upholstery not only contributes to comfort but also visually complements the warm appearance of the oak.
the backrest is slightly tilted backward and ergonomically shaped, creating a comfortable seating experience – ideal for long evenings at the dining table.
this version of the erik buch chairs is significantly rarer in oak than the more commonly found teak versions. Their timeless elegance and stability make them a stylish eye-catcher in both modern and classic interiors.
condition: five of the six chairs are in very good condition with only minimal signs of wear consistent with their age. One chair has a visible area of wear in the fabric upholstery on the front edge of the seat. The wooden frames of all chairs are stable and show no structural damage.
