Our understanding is this pottery vessel is used specifically to create the ceremonial, fermented corn drink or others claim that they are used to hold water. While others say that they are used for food fermentation. In my opinion this is ideal as decorative artwork to add authenticity and heritage to a rustic environment. This piece stands on its tripod base, as it does not sit flat and have a conical shape.
