The table is of Pietra Dura, a technique also known as "parchin kari" in India. The technique is not the same as a mosaic as this table would seem to look. Here the stones are larger and cut to fit the image, rather than being roughly equal in size + shape. The stones used here are of marble, with semi precious gemstones making up the pattern work. The base is also of hard stone in pedestal, columns. A large break is found in the center of the table that has been repaired. See less
