Pitcher vase by Fernand Elchinger (1911-1975). Ferdinand Elchinger, son of the Elchinger Céramistes dynasty, which had been producing ceramics in Souffleheim, Alsace, since 1834. Inspired by Art Deco and Bauhaus, Fernand Elchinger developed the modern and abstract forms of his ceramic vessels over the years, transforming them from the Elchinger Céramistes' original purely utilitarian objects into works of art at the cutting edge of his time.
Signature "Elchinger France" is located at the bottom of the vase base (see images). The vase is described in the catalog as a "jug with a twisted body and offset handle." This piece has an attribution mark,
