This small 19th-century ebonised mahogany pedestal desk is a delightful blend of practicality and elegance. Its rich colour and patina, combined with the exquisite golden orange tooled leather top, create a truly captivating piece.
The desk features nine graduated drawers on one side, each oak-lined and fitted with original brass swan-neck handles—a testament to the quality of its craftsmanship. The tooled leather inset, framed by a reeded moulded edge, adds a touch of luxury and functionality. The desk's design, with its two pedestals resting on a plinth base with castors, ensures both stability and ease of movement. The fact that it breaks down into three pieces for easy transport adds to its practicality. England c.1820.
