This was likely created circa 1850 or possibly earlier.

The compressed globular shape at the bottom is reminiscent of a moon vase. The second photo, showing the base, gives the best impression of this. The potter's turnings are visible up to the rim, showing slight variations of slip. lower sections, down to the foot, are undamaged. The upper portion is also fine, but has a very slight tilt, as can be seen in the first two photos.

Overall, in near mint condition, with only minimal staining at the top. 10 inches in height.

The walls of the pot are quite thin, weighing half of what would be expected for this type of jar and era.
