Alessio Tasca, a ceramist and designer, was born in Nove (in the Vicenza Province), Italy. He came from a family of potters and started to work with clay early, first with his two brothers when they founded the Tasca Artigiani Ceramisti workshop in 1948, after which he established his own studio. Gio Ponti, an earlier admirer of his work, was fascinated with his glazes and folk figuration. He was a world renowned prize-winning ceramicist whose creations appear in institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. See less
