I believe this is walnut with pine secondary woods and a maple burl for the light blonde squares on the top.

Table was found in Virginia, and it is structurally sturdy and sound. Old square nails, hand planed drawer bottom and dovetails on drawer construction. Could use some furniture oil or wax, but I will leave this choice to its new owner, as well as whether to restore the damaged board squares. On close inspection you can see where cut fragments of old handwritten letters have been used to set the wood squares. The original drawer lock is present, but I do not have the key for the drawer.
