It became a center for glass production due to the Venetian government's decision to relocate glassmakers there to reduce fire hazards in the city.

This piece is a tribute to Pablo Picasso, an exceptional vase in blown Murano glass entirely handmade in clear glass with exterior amber red, brown and aquamarine glass wire decorations in relief. The vase is signed, and the Adhesive label of Vetro Artistico® Murano is on the base.

The vase is in excellent condition. However, there is one tiny strand of glass that has a gap to the right of the right eye on the face. Please see photo last to end. Not entirely sure if this was intentional. (The ends of the 'broken' strand are not sharp at all so it well may have been).
