A large Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain punch bowl.
In the Rose Medallion (Famille Rose) style.
The central cartouche of the bowl depicts a court scene. The interior walls of the bowl have 4 cartouches of people with flora and everyday objects between each cartouche. The exterior walls of the bowl have 6 cartouches, alternating between court scenes and scenes of birds & flowers.
The interior and exterior of the bowl's rim is decorated with elaborate handpainted vines, flowers, insects, and colorful birds & bats (bats represent good fortune in Chinese culture - the word for bat '蝠' and the word for good fortune '福' are homophones) on a thick gilt border.
Simply a wonderful Chinese Export punch bowl!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is flaking to the 2 painted fans of the bowl's interior walls, and some minor rubbing to the painted decoration and gilding here and there throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
