An evocative modernist cityscape captured at dusk, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1975.

As dimming light softens the urban edges, the artist has reduced architectural forms into geometric planes – warehouses, blocky high-rises, and rows of parked railcars — giving the scene a rhythmic, almost abstracted structure. The visual repetition of lampposts, silhouetted trees, and building facades hints at both the order and the monotony of this cityscape.

Rendered in a subdued palette of dusky blues, muted greys, burnt orange, and deep maroons, the painting conveys the quiet atmosphere of a city settling into evening. A band of still water in the foreground reflects the urban glow and breaks up the composition with cool, shimmering blues.
