Absolutely fab pair of true mid century Italian candle stick holders made of Rosewood and Brass, with the "x" shaped base. These are a rare find, with few like it circulating now. One of the candle holders has "Made in Italy" stamped into the base underneath. The brass has been cleaned and shined, and is in beautiful condition. It is unlacquered, so it should patina beautifully, or polish up to keep the shine.
