Gorgeous Chinoiserie-inspired bamboo and rattan storage chest; a look-and-feel that will complement most any design or furniture style. Structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, it’s the perfect storage solution for blankets, pillows, out of season clothing or anything else that needs to be tucked away. Also, on the interior, the lift top has a center catch hinge which allows the top to conveniently remain open when adding items for storage. Thick strong piano hinges on the backside are sturdy and provide strength. The lower drawer adds additional storage capacity for bedding or bathroom linens. There is a catch on the underside of the drawer to prevent it from falling out. Nicely weighted, the two handles, one on each side, allows you and a companion to effortlessly pick it up and move, if needed.

We acquired this beauty from its original owner, so technically we are the second owners. It’s very much in the same condition as when we acquired i.e. excellent condition both structurally and cosmetically with minimal age-appropriate wear. Maker is unknown but per the original owner, this beauty was made in Indonesia sometime in the early 2000’s. It measures as follows:

Weight: approximately 60 to 70 lbs.

The frame, interior compartment and drawer are handcrafted from solid bamboo and mahogany wood. The handwoven eye-catching all-over trim is done in a blanket weave pattern, while the chest’s outer covering is crafted from split rattan weavers and stakes. Metal hardware is finished in a soft golden hue. Note, the hardware on the center front which looks like a latch is not, it strictly for adornment. The chest’s color palette is a rich smoky espresso and mocha with golden undertones.

A boho chic head-turner that will look fabulous as a foot-of-the-bed storage (blankets, linens, pillows, etc.) chest or storage chest in a child’s room or guest bedroom. If you have a smaller home or condo and still need room for storage, it could serve nicely as a petite coffee table, if a glass top were added which is not included.
