Iconic and sculptural, these Sarapis stools are one of Philippe Starck's most emblematic creations for Driade, made in the 1980s. Designed with the unmistakable postmodern touch of the French designer, the stools combine geometric rigor and formal irony in a synthesis that challenges the conventions of traditional furniture.
Made entirely of anthracite grey painted metal, they have an essential structure with a perforated square seat and four square-section legs. The distinctive detail is the curved crescent-shaped backrest, a strong graphic sign that breaks the orthogonality of the design and also serves as a support for the back.
The composition is completed by the tubular footrests in chromed metal, fixed laterally, which add an industrial note to the design.
