This vintage Japanese Kutani vase features a hand-painted peacock and peony motif executed in polychrome overglaze enamels with gilt detailing.
The ovoid form, short neck, and vivid enamel palette align with mid-20th-century Kutani export production, where expressive brushwork and symbolic imagery were emphasized. The peacock’s feathering and the surrounding peonies are rendered with layered color and fine outlines, characteristic of decorative Kutani ware designed for display.
Standing approximately eight inches tall, the vase presents a balanced composition across the shoulder and body, supported by a clear glazed foot and a hand-painted red Kutani mark.
