Following the British invasion in 1839 and the occupation of the island, China ceded Hong Kong to Britain in 1841. The peace of Nanking in 1842 brought to an end the first Opium war and opened up the trade, allowing people like Thomas Allom to visit and record the history of the areaThe frame seems to be original and is in good vintage condition some age but nothing significant Hand colored, slight yellowing due to age, adding to the antique charm. We loved the feel an d style of this 18.5" x 15.5" Framed Print.
