An unusually decorative circa-1940s ashtray combining warm gilded brass with a cool chrome bowl. Cast floral swags, scrolling ornament, and sculptural handles surround the shallow tray, while a stylized flower rises dramatically from the center.
More decorative object than ordinary smoking accessory, it has the presence of a small table sculpture. Place it on a cocktail table, library desk, or bar cabinet as intended, or repurpose it as a distinctive catchall for matches, jewelry, or other small objects.
