Richard Diebenkorn ( 1922 - 1993 ) was an American painter who's early work is associated with Abstract Expressionism and The Bay Area Figurative Movement of the 1950's and 1960's. His later works were instrumental to his achievement of worldwide acclaim. His artworks were influenced by other important Modern artists including Clyfford Still, Willem De Kooning, Arshile Gorky, and Henri Matisse. Described as on e of the premier American painters of The Postwar Era, Diebenkorn's deeply lyrical Abstractions evoked the shimmering light and wide open spaces of California, where he spent virtually his entire life. His artworks are included in the collections of many of the most prestigious museums.

In 2018 Acquavella Galleries in New York presented the landmark exhibition " California Landscapes " Richard Diebenkorn / Wayne Thiebaud ", featuring landscape artworks by California painters Richard Diebenkorn and Wayne Thiebaud. The exhibited marked the first joint exhibition dedicated to landscapes by these leading Postwar California painters - who were also close friends. Themes explored in the show and works included their use of vibrant color, painterly texture, sense of light, and aerial perspective.

This beautiful exhibition was a must-see for anyone interested in these two beloved West Coast artists, best known for their Geometric Abstractions of The California Landscape. featuring the pairings of more than 50 paintings, the exhibit showed the connection of these two artists like never before. Richard Diebenkorn and Wayne Thiebaud shared the inspiration of California and experimented with perspective to capture their surroundings.

The rare out pf print Abstract Expressionist framed extra large format exhibition poster measures 27 1/4" W X 39 1/4" H X 1 1/2" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern natural oak wood satin eggshell finish museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
