Iconic and generously sized beveled oval mirror, mounted with chrome supports on a vivid bright yellow glass panel that extends beyond the mirror itself. This frame creates a refined play of depth and color contrast, with strong visual impact. On the back, a custom-made structure in metal angle bars allows the mirror to be hung in the desired position. Produced between 1970 and 1973 by Veca (the original label is affixed to the back metal frame, as shown in the photos), this mirror may be the result of a collaboration with Fontana Arte. Veca was an Italian company particularly active during the mid-century modern design period, known for producing home furnishings and bathroom accessories in glass and metal. Although historical information about the company is limited, Veca stood out for the quality and elegance of its creations, often featuring colored glass and chrome finishes. Fontana Arte, founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti, is a benchmark name in Italian design. Renowned for its innovative use of glass and its production of lighting and furnishings, the company collaborated with major designers during the 1960s and 1970s, always keeping glass at the heart of its creations. Although there are no official sources confirming an ongoing collaboration between Veca and Fontana Arte, it is plausible that Veca produced items or supplied components for Fontana Arte at certain times, given their shared expertise in glass and metal craftsmanship. This mirror, both rigorous and luminous, minimal yet functional, creates warm, atmospheric, and enveloping environments.
