history
during the 1940s and 50s, axel larsson was commissioned to furnish a number of public environments, including hotel park avenue in gothenburg. The hotel, which was designed by architect nils einar eriksson, was a prestigious project with 180 rooms, located just off kungsportsavenyn. In 1950, park avenue was completed, with hotel rooms mostly furnished with furniture designed by larsson, although an occasional malmsten armchair can be glimpsed in preserved interior photographs from the hotel. In 1958, larsson returned to the hotel, when the business was expanded to include a banquet hall, conference rooms and a new restaurant.
