This particular set is an original production from the early 1970s, making it a rare and highly collectible example of Italian modernist design.

Meticulously restored inside and out, the internal structure has been reinforced for optimal support and longevity. The chairs have been reupholstered in a luxurious Italian velvet featuring a richly textured geometric weave in warm terracotta tones, subtly interwoven with aubergine hues that shimmer with the light — giving the fabric remarkable depth and sophistication.
Still supported by their original aluminum base, the chairs are both visually striking and exceptionally comfortable.

Giancarlo Piretti, born in Bologna in 1940, studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in his hometown before joining Anonima Castelli as a designer. His work is celebrated for its fusion of functionality and refined aesthetic — qualities perfectly embodied in the Alky chair.
