This striking and colorful mask is an enamel art piece created by enamel artist Franco Bastianelli in his studio in Pesaro. In the middle of the last century, a lot of enamel was made as an art form in the north of Italy. The works of Paolo de Poli are best known, but Bastianelli's studio is also a well-known enamel workshop. The mask is reminiscent of primitive masks. The colors and rich decoration, on the other hand, have a very Italian feel. Up close you can see how beautifully this work of art has been constructed, with a beautiful and carefully applied layer of enamel that has developed a beautiful patina over time.
