She was a wonderful cook and set a beautiful table. This is circa 1930's Sheffield Pickle Caster/ Caddy. It is a glass decanter with fitted matching top, set in a footed silver plated ribbed carrier with handle and rings to tuck the chrome finish tongs. The glass is original, probably pressed glass, the glass design is similar to a Waterford cut crystal pattern. The glass is in pristine condition no chips, In my research it must have come with a pickle fork and a drip cup, instead my grandmother used tongs to reach all the way in and grab her homemade pickles, and I am missing the drip cup. She used the decanter to serve bean salad and krauts and condiments.
Approx overall height to top of handle 8 3/4" High 4 3/4" widest including ring 4" Deep. Tongs are approx 7" (no maker or mark) they look like ice tongs. Glad decanter including top is approx 5 3/4" High x 3 1/8" wide x 3 1/8" Deep
