An absolute gem.
Intricately carved, wonderfully rich oak table with bulbous legs, carved stretcher, hanging finials, gadrooning, and relief carved lions (?) at the corners.
This would qualify as an antique bureau plat writing desk but can serve many purposes.
It is attractive, ornate, intricate, and wonderfully patinated.
Thought to be of European origin. No ownership history, provenance, paperwork found.
