This pillow is designed to be used for two persons. It was lacquered in red but most of the red lacquer finish has worn off already. However, the pillow itself is well-intact with no damage. The top part of the pillow where the head laid is made of slated bamboo. Bamboo is known for its pliability and is a good pillow material. The slated design is good for ventilation. The pillow has a built in mechanism which enables the pillow to reduce its size and is convenient for traveling. The pillow extends from a closed position of 17.5 inches to 32 inches in width. This piece is made of Baimu (Cyoress) and Bamboo and is from Shanxi. See less
