these extraordinary armchairs, probably designed in the school of prof. Josef hoffmann around 1905, embody the characteristic design principles of the wiener werkstätte: a clear, strictly geometric design language, uncompromising choice of materials and the highest level of precision craftsmanship. The exciting construction with its special geometry lends the object an almost architectural austerity.

finished in ebonized and limed oak with polished shellac surfaces and upholstered seats in blue genuine leather, the chairs reflect the elegant reduction of early moderate modernism. Despite the anonymous design, the quality is indicative of a specialized viennese cabinetmaker's workshop of the time.
