( one supporting bar under the seat, and without supporting bar in the back, all original). Minimalism at its best! The chair was designed back in 1960 by Martin Visser ( Netherlands ), who can be mentioned in the same phrase as Cees Braakman and Friso Kramer.
Condition: The rattan as well as the matt chrome metal frame construction has been inspected well and there are no broken weldings, cracks, or broken / missing rattan pieces. The rattan has a fantastic patina and color due to aging! The chrome plating has some superficial aging marks on the legs. All is solid, no broken welding or cracks.
In particular this SZ01 chair was clearly influenced by late fifties Danish design by o.a. Poul Kjaerholm and Fabricius Kastholm. The use of Rattan was also common for several Dutch chair designs by Dirk van Sliedregt and Rohe.
